eta Durban Quarterly Newsletter
eta Durban
It has been go-go-go at the eta Durban campus since the beginning of the year and we have hardly had time to catch our breath. We had a buzz of activity on campus with a record student intake. Our off-site programmes have been going strong as well with the Sharks, Midlands and Gladiators Academies are all onboard since February. Our sport and fitness industry continues to grow rapidly.
I am particularly excited about the launch of REPS in South Africa (REPSSA) since the 1st April. This has created a professional register for fitness professionals, so get on the REPSSA website to find out more.
The sport coaching industry will also establish its own register soon. The South African Sport Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) has now published its long term plan for coaching development through the SASCOC Coaching Framework. This is great news as the framework will give sport coaches the recognition they well deserve. We fully support these initiatives by REPSSA and SASCOC; professional registers can only enhance and grow our professions.
Enjoy the first of our three-monthly newsletter and have a look at all the learning opportunities we have in the store for you this year.

The day started with the group from TVG Teambuilding telling us all about the day’s events. The activities started with a very exciting and innovative warm-up. Students were then split into groups and rotated through
These activities ensured that all the students worked together to solve problems or to get through their activities. This not only made it enormous fun but challenging as well. All in all a very active and enjoyable day; in a beautiful location for all of the eta students.
